China Camp 2007, December 1-15, 2007 …

a Chinese internal martial art training “camp” in Shanghai and San Qing Shan at the base of a Taoist Mountain in central Jiangxi Province. More than 140 participants from 10 countries met for 15 days to learn from master teachers and assistants of 9 Chinese internal martial disciplines. In remote San Qing Shan village, now a small seasonal resort area, people met and trained, helping to preserve this ancient knowledge, to challenge themselves, and meet old friends and make new ones.

China Camp '04 and '07 are culturally and historically significant events in which several top artists came together in rare cooperation to teach Taijiquan, Bagua, Xingyiquan, Shaolin, Lan Shou, and Tongbei to non-Chinese learners who traveled from around the world to study with them.

China Camp was begun by Master George Xu (Xu Guo Ming) who has worked for years to promote education and preservation of Chinese internal martial arts and the knowledge and philosophies inherent in their practice.

China Camp 2007 Video Project

The China Camp '07 Video Project helps to provide educational materials to all interested in Chinese internal martial arts practices and principles (practitioners, researchers and others). The 21 China Camp '07 films of events and selected training sessions help to broaden opportunities to learn. They also help to preserve this unique and beneficial knowledge by promoting master teachers--the reservoirs of knowledge. The project also supports the mission of the World Association of Chinese Internal Martial Arts (WACIMA) <www.wacima.org>. Available DVDs include: form demonstrations of more than 40 martial artists from Shanghai, other parts of China, the USA, Italy, Norway and Germany; nightly lectures by China Camp's masters; early morning practice sessions with Masters George Xu and Zhao Ya Jun, and; special class excerpts and reviews of Lan Shou Master Wu Jie.
