Fundamentals of Taijiquan and Qigong

FALL STUDY SESSION emphasizing Qigong (energy cultivation) at Trimble Spa and Natural Hot Springs ... Now through November 3, 2008.

I just revised our after-work practice times to run from 5:30 to 7:30 Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I also changed prices. Plus, I added a unique twist to it. Come by when you get off work whatever time that is and get in a little practice. Come by when you can. You don't have to arrive at 5:30, nor stay 2 hours. I do recommend practice for a minimum of an hour, however, whether you're a beginner or have had more practice.

Classes are designed for beginners (0-2 years), intermediate (2-4 years), and lapsed tai chi and qigong practitioners needing review of the fundamentals. Excellent chance for beginners to learn essential basics of energy cultivation. A single qigong set done properly does wonders.

Monday (5:30 - 7 pm) … Using intention, not brute force. Buddhist breath. Primordial Qi set from the Liu He/Ba Fa system. Dantian Exercise. Qi Circling, Nei Gong training, Silk Reeling.

Wednesday (5:30 - 7 pm) … Eight Pieces of Brocade Qigong.

Friday (5:30 - 7 pm w/minimum) … Wu Style form.

CLASS COST: $6.50 (Class only drop-in rate). $13.00 (Class with hot springs). $6.50 to soak is the best deal going! This low price may help you pay for gas.

Whole Course: (9 classes remaining): $39.50 on or before Oct 13 (Class only, min. applies). Add $6.50 per soak (half-price).

I want to say that the practice of tai chi is not about money, it's about practice and it's about health, longevity and well being. Think of the low class price as helping you out on gas so you can get here and feel better! Get in some self-defense skills while you're at it, too!

ADDITIONAL Class (CANCELED, transferred to Wed. at Trimble): Tuesdays 5:30 pm until ... Always call to register before showing up (749-0891) Location: Rotary Park at the Gazebo on the River Trail near Main Street Bridge.

All classes also include one or all of the following:
Build qi awareness in the hands (and feet, too). Learn internal secrets of qi cultivation. Qi circles. Improved blood circulation to the brain. Open the joints, soften the tendons and ligaments. Build bone density. Zhan Zhuang (standing). Two-person training for feedback and refinement. Proper breathing techniques for relaxation and performance, plus breathing meditation exercises. Includes post-natal, or Buddha, breath and diaphragmatic breathing.

Instructor's Promise
The best way to learn tai chi and qigong is through oral instruction and regular practice over time. I will work with you: to learn key foundational exercises of taijiquan and qigong; to visualize and internalize universal skills and techniques; to tune into subtle internal physical and energetic levels; to get the most out of tai chi and qigong in a relatively short time, and; to tap into your own inherent abilities.
