Health and Wellness Raising Awareness of the Benefits of Tai ChiWelcome to a new resource page from Durango Tai Chi. Our hope is to raise awareness of the benefits of tai chi, qigong and other internal arts. So many people begin tai chi as a last resort; desperate, in pain, at a loss. For all of us who do, there is hope. Many resources are coming into being to provide information, practice opportunities, and even treatment for illness and simple aging. In the spirit of sharing we provide this list of other websites that provide useful information to help spread awareness and offer help to those in need. To find out all kinds of things: schools, teachers, philosophy, history....do a google search of the term "tai chi." Health and Wellness Resources http://www.mesotheliomasymptoms.com/ "Research has found several benefits in practicing tai chi as a complementary treatment for patients diagnosed with cancers such as mesothelioma. Studies show that students of tai chi show greater physical improvements.... Those who practice tai chi also benefit from an improved sense of well-being. Scientific and medical research has shown that tai chi is a well-rounded form of exercise that can help to improve several aspects of personal health....The American Cancer Society lists tai chi as a complementary therapy for cancer treatment. When coupled with standard medical procedures, tai chi could result in reduced pain and stress, along with a sense of peace among patients. Patients diagnosed with cancers such as mesothelioma may benefit from alternative therapies such as this one. Mesothelioma exhibits a long latency period, oftentimes resulting in diagnosis occurring in the later stages. Due to the diagnostic stage, palliative treatment options are often considered, such as the practice of tai chi." Susan A. Matthews, MS, teaches and consults on a number of illnesses, working one-on-one with Parkinson's patients, stroke patients and many other in need. Please contact us if you would like your site and info to be listed.
